  • With an estimated population of 112.5 million inhabitants in 2010, Mexico is the 11th most populated country in the world.
  • Mexico is the most populous Spanish-speaking country in the world and the second most-populous country in Latin America after Portuguese-speaking Brazil.
  • Mexico has a very young population, 44% of the people are under 20 years of age
  • 44% of the population is part of the active workforce, of which 65 percent are male and 35 percent female.
  • Education is currently mandatory for ages 3 through 15.
  • 77% of the population between the ages of 3 and 15 is enrolled in school.
